When Cassidy applied for our brand new Senior Rep program, we knew she would be a perfect fit. She is bright, energetic, smart, super involved in school activities and it doesn’t hurt that she is beautiful and photogenic. She is a Minden High School Senior and a welcome addition to the Buie Photography family. Cassidy received this session for FREE for representing us and we couldn’t be more pleased with the way these images turned out. As a bonus, her senior portrait session is a great example of . . .
Our #1 tip for a great Senior Portrait session – Girl’s Edition:
-Smile!
But not just any smile. Your real smile. Ok. Maybe you think that sounds a little simplistic. But there is a little more to it . . . Life tip: There is always more to it.
Moving along . . .
You can’t fake your real smile. You can’t. Nine times out of ten, if you are faking it, the camera will know. So be happy and stress free on the day of your shoot.
And in order to do that you should:
-be on time (If you arrive at your senior portrait session in a whirlwind of hangers, five minutes late, and wondering if you forgot your cute shoes you will be stressed. And it will show.)
-plan your outfits a day or two before the shoot – if not earlier – and make sure they are all clean and ready to go (This will help immeasurable with the tip above.)
-allow plenty of time for makeup (Notice how a lot of these tips have to do with time.)
-get a good night’s sleep (I don’t want to waste a lot of your time extolling the virtues of sleep, but trust us, it’s important. You will feel better and ready for your shoot if you are rested as opposed to tired.)
-have fun (Communicate with your photographer and make sure they are aware of any ideas you might have. Get creative. Don’t be afraid to try something new or something that you saw on pinterest and really, really liked. Bring props. Make the shoot your shoot. It is all about you, afterall!
-And, as always, your mother can trump, change, or otherwise alter any advice we give you for your senior portrait session!
Check out Cassidy’s pictures. It’s pretty easy to see that her smile is very genuine and very authentic. We were having a great time and it shows in her pics. So . . . that’s it. Keep smiling friends!
