Brandon and Melanie were a fun couple to get to know and photograph over the past several months. We have been with them every step of the way – from their engagement to their Ruston, Louisiana wedding – and we loved every minute! Watching these two interact and simply love one another was a blessing, and one that we will not soon forget.
When Melanie and her family first contacted us, they were looking for a team that could help guide them through the maze of photography sessions that surround a wedding. And we were thrilled! Due to the fact that, Melanie is, after all, a legacy bride. Cara and I were honored to have had the privilege of photographing her sister Haley’s wedding in 2016. (You can check out the blog post for Haley’s bridal session here. But Melanie’s is here.) And like her sister, Melanie impressed us with her easy manner and loving attitude.
The couple began their day at Cook Baptist Church in Ruston and were one of the first couples to be married in a newly renovated sanctuary! After the wedding, events moved to the Outdoor Wilderness Learning (OWL) Center in Dubach – specifically the Henning Conference Center. The food was amazing and everyone had a good time in the photo booth. (The photo booth was a fun addition. It’s called The Selfie Stop. It’s awesome. Full disclosure: we own it.) In addition to everything else, the newly weds departed the reception in a vintage car the groom’s father had refurbished just for the occasion. Because of their attention to detail, Melanie and Brandon had a wonderful wedding.
It was a beautiful day for a beautiful couple and, most of all, we wish Melanie and Brandon all of our best in their new life together. They’re pretty cool. They make us happy.
The Outdoor Wilderness Learning Center
The OWL Center is located on highway 563 just outside of Dubach. It is made up of several different buildings spread across acres of pasture land populated by goats. Many of them babies. Adorable. Baby. Goats. *Drops Mic* The Henning center has spaces for both large and small groups and has a full commercial kitchen. For more information on the OWL Center or the Henning Center, please check out their website at www.owlcenter.com.
The Selfie Stop
As seen at Melanie and Brandon’s wedding – as well as Artober Fest, Railroad Fest, Girlfriends Giggle, and more! The Selfie Stop is a booth-less photo spot that is available for wedding receptions, corporate events, and anywhere else people would like to have fun. It has been a really fun addition to Buie Photography and it has provided us with yet another way we can help make our clients’ events memorable. Because, at the end of the day, you want to have fun! If you want to learn more about The Selfie Stop, take a look at our site: www.theselfiestop.co. Let us know what we can do for you!
